A message from: GIRL SCOUTS OF SAN GORGONIO COUNCIL
Each year the Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council
are offered a chance to participate in a Fall Products Sale. This
program allows our girls the opportunity to learn, practice and
grow with invaluable life skills: sales and marketing, public
relations, goal-setting, money management, communications,
commitment and community service. Summed up, life is selling --a
fact everyone comes to know, but our Girl Scouts learn this at an
early age. The activity of selling is directly related to our
purpose of helping all girls realize their full potential and
become strong, confident, and resourceful citizens. At the end of
each sale our Girl scouts are a little bit stronger, believe in
themselves just a little more and the courage, confidence and
character has embedded itself just a little more. That is the
beauty of the fall sale. It is the training ground, the first steps
the prep work for a larger program like our beloved cookie
sale.
Participation in Council-sponsored Product Sales
Programs plays an important role in the Girl Scouting life. In
addition to the life lessons learned, these programs also fund
troop activities and trips, camp opportunities, volunteer training,
and Council operations that support the girls. Never let it be
forgotten that first and foremost this is a program but let us also
not forget that without our fall and cookie sale our Girl Scouts
would not be able to fund their experience. Teaching work
ethic and earning your way are some of the greatest programming
pieces we can teach.
